Athletic programs follow Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) guidelines and are open for competition for students in grades 7 and 8 only. In some sports 6th graders may participate as practice participants only.

St. Francis Area Schools is member of the Mississippi 8 Conference.

In order to participate in a sport all students must register online, which includes the required eligibility brochure. In addition, a sports physical is required every three years. All forms need to be complete in order to participate on the first day.
